Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in a fast-paced retail environment. You will support the Store Manager with staff scheduling, training, and daily operations, while ensuring excellent customer service and efficient cash handling.

You will help maintain merchandise presentation, inventory accuracy and compliance with policies, while protecting assets and reducing losses. The role involves opening/closing the store and supporting bank deposits when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow documented procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training staff.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, merchandising displays and planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages and markdowns and completing paperwork.
• Assist with store security, cash handling, refunds and deposits as directed.
