Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise employees, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and help deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will perform stocking and cashiering, assist with scheduling, training, safety, and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail and supervisory roles preferred.
• Ability to supervise employees and manage cash handling.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store on at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, rotation, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure planograms and product presentation meet standards.
• Maintain store financial integrity with cash control and deposits.
• Assist in store management during Store Manager absence.
