Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a part-time Store Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and drive exceptional customer experiences. You will lead a team of brand advocates, execute visual merchandising strategies, and ensure inventory and sales goals are met with a focus on brand standards.

You will develop staff, manage store processes, and participate in hiring while maintaining strong guest service and loss prevention practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Experience with staff coaching and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maximizing profitability through guest engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection.
• Create exceptional customer experiences with a strong client focus.
• Implement visual merchandising directives to support brand strategy.
• Ensure replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Support loss prevention and safety policy adherence.
• Assist in training, operations, sales, inventory, and store administration.
• Foster development and accountability within the team.
• Process transactions through POS and computer systems.
• Participate in hiring and selecting qualified candidates.
• Occasionally perform duties outside primary role.
