Job summary

Goodwill Retail Services Bakersfield is seeking a Retail Supervisor to support store operations, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. You will handle donations processing, cash register activities, and daily reports while upholding Goodwill’s mission and values.

The role requires at least 6 months experience in a related position, strong reading/writing skills, basic math proficiency, and a preference for applicants with a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a Material Handler II or Retail Clerk II position, or equivalent external experience.
• Ability to read and write.
• Knowledge of basic math operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with management, employees, clients, and the public.
• Valid California driver’s license preferred, liability insurance, and a DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and store activities to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and security of donated merchandise.
• Process incident reports for HR, Safety, WC, and Loss Prevention within one hour when required.
• Oversee store opening/closing, production goals tracking, and audit of employee performance.
• Assist customers and operate cash register, handle sales, pricing, inventory control, and receipts.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and build long-term customer relationships.
• Maintain records of money, sales and production accurately and timely.
• Enforce company policies and safety procedures and report hazards and incidents.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, customers, and coworkers.
