Job summary

Family Dollar LLC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role focuses on daily store activities, merchandise handling, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom.

The candidate will support the Store Manager in supervising staff, ensuring compliance with policies, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent physical activity.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and maintaining records (payroll, scheduling, cash receipts).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and employees.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
