Job summary

IKEA Madison is seeking a customer-focused Retail Associate to support shoppers in finding the right solutions for their homes. You will help customers, keep merchandise stocked, and learn product features to assist informed choices. You’ll also assist with in-store food items, inventory, and smooth transactions, including returns and exchanges.

Open availability Monday through Sunday; permanent full-time role with strong benefits and opportunities to grow within the team.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
  • Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively approach customers requiring additional help, identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
  • Keep area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked. Ensures that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices, resulting in a better overall shopping experience.
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
  • Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
  • Flow product to final selling location.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide customers with a simple and efficient Full Serve Hand Out experience.
  • Provide the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience.

JOB TYPE: Permanent, Full-Time

HOURS: Open Availability Required Monday-Sunday including holidays, nights and weekends.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 - $26.14 based on IKEA equivalent years of experience
