Job summary

IKEA USA is seeking a Retail Store Associate to float between departments, helping customers and ensuring a positive shopping experience. You will keep stock, maintain merch standards, and learn product features to guide customers in the right choices.

Open availability is required Monday through Sunday, including holidays, nights and weekends. This is a permanent, full-time role with benefits, starting in October.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
  • Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively approach customers requiring additional help and advise on best solutions for their homes.
  • Keep area clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked, upholding IKEA merchandising standards.
  • Convey product passion and learn features to help customers make informed choices.
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, product introductions, and remodels.
  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items; follow safe food handling procedures.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at receiving.
  • Flow product to final selling location and process sales transactions efficiently.
  • Provide customers with a simple full serve hand-out and easy returns/exchanges experience.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Store Associate, floating between various departments, contributing to a successful shopping experience, you will:

  • Actively approach customers requiring additional help, identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
  • Keep area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked. Ensures that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices, resulting in a better overall shopping experience.
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
  • Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
  • Flow product to final selling location.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide customers with a simple and efficient Full Serve Hand Out experience.
  • Provide the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience.

HOURS: Open Availability Required Monday-Sunday including holidays, nights and weekends.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 - $26.14 based on IKEA equivalent years of experience
