Job summary

IKEA Gruppe in Madison, WI is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Team Member to assist customers, learn products, and deliver a friendly, reliable shopping experience.

You will maintain store standards, help buyers understand features, and support food service while ensuring smooth operations across the floor.

Hours are 34-40 per week on a 90-180 day assignment with benefits eligibility for regular co-workers.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of retail experience.
  • Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by identifying needs and advising best home solutions.
  • Keep area clean, tidy, stocked and priced; uphold basic merchandising standards.
  • Share product knowledge to help customers make informed decisions.
  • Assemble furniture as needed for in-store showcases and remodels.
  • Prepare and serve IKEA Food items; follow safety guidelines.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Flow products to final selling location.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.

What you'll be doing day to day
  • Actively approach customers requiring additional help identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
  • Keeps area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked. Ensures that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices, resulting in a better overall shopping experience.
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
  • Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
  • Flow product to final selling location.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 - $26.14 based on IKEA equivalent years of experience
