Job summary

IKEA Huntsville is seeking a Retail Store Associate to float between departments, helping customers and ensuring a smooth shopping experience. You will learn products, assist with merchandising, and support food service responsibilities as needed.

The role requires at least one year of retail experience, a passion for home furnishings, and the ability to work nights and weekends. Pay ranges from $18.50 to $23.59 per hour, with generous benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
  • Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively approach customers requiring additional help, identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
  • Keep area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked. Ensures that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices, resulting in a better overall shopping experience.
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
  • Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
  • Flow product to final selling location.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide customers with a simple and efficient Full Serve Hand Out experience.
  • Provide the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

JOB TYPE: Permanent – Full-Time (benefits eligible)

HOURS: 34–40 hrs/week (FT) — limited openings for each

SHIFT: Retail Environment; must be able to work nights & weekends.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 to $23.59
