Job summary

Burlington Stores is looking for a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering outstanding customer service. You will be stationed at store entrances and high-risk areas, monitor for theft, greet customers, and report incidents to the Manager on Duty.

This part-time role requires a friendly, energetic presence, the ability to stand for long periods, and flexible scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure environment by monitoring entrances and reducing theft opportunities
• Greet customers with a warm smile and confident, energetic presence
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty
• Train associates on shortage reduction programs
• Stand and walk for extended periods while ensuring safety and security
• Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
