MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking a Retail Shift Supervisor for the Jefferson City Store - Ten Mile team. The role is hourly, full-time, with mandatory travel up to 25% and an hourly rate of $19.50.

The position emphasizes supervision, training, and leadership to support the mission, “Changing Lives Through the Power of Work,” while delivering excellent service to donors and shoppers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred; no degree required.
• 1 year of retail management or Goodwill experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
• Leadership skills: decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, and problem solving.
• Comfortable with registers and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff and ensure they perform their functions.
• Provide superior internal and external customer service to ensure retention and quickly resolve issues.
• Coach and counsel employees on performance, including discipline up to termination.
• Assign daily duties to achieve operational tasks using independent judgment.
• Identify employees for advancement based on performance.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct to management/Human Resources.
• Read and enforce agency policies, procedures and values.
• Utilize staffing methods to keep the store properly staffed and arrange replacements when needed.
• Audit, edit, and approve payroll.
• Eliminate wasteful practices through process improvement.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.
