Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Loss Prevention Agent to monitor stores, deter theft, and document investigations. You will work with LP Field Leaders, corporate teams, and external partners to ensure a safe shopping environment and uphold company values of integrity and respect.

The role requires 1–2 years in loss prevention or security, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• AA degree preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in loss prevention, retail, or security.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners including law enforcement.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain working relationships across the organization.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to solve problems with urgency.
• Compliance with federal and state laws for security positions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances, exits, sales floor, and checkout areas to identify theft or fraudulent behavior.
• Observe and engage individuals exhibiting dishonest actions to prevent loss.
• Use CCTV and investigative resources to detect theft indicators and validate incidents.
• Document incidents, maintain evidence, and provide timely reports to leadership and investigations teams.
• Partner with leadership and law enforcement to resolve theft cases and support apprehensions when authorized.
• Assist with trespass enforcement for repeat offenders according to policy.
• Collaborate with internal teams on major theft incidents and follow-up investigations.
• Identify and report safety hazards and operational vulnerabilities to store management.
• Perform additional duties to support loss prevention objectives.
