Job summary

Kirkland's Knightdale is seeking a Sales Leader to drive customer-focused sales through strong product knowledge and compelling visual presentation. You will collaborate with the Store Manager to execute business plans and guide the team toward exemplary customer experiences in-store and online.

The role requires leadership, a focus on sales growth, and the ability to motivate staff while upholding store policies and inventory accuracy. Weekend/evening availability is needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college preferred.
• Minimum 1 year management experience in a retail or service industry preferred.
• Strong communications skills and customer selling experience required.
• Energetic, people and results oriented, competitive with a drive to succeed.
• Valid Driver license.
• Ability to handle and transport company funds to bank locations designated by Kirkland’s; funds transport follows company policy.
• Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to read and interpret company directives, handbook, and manuals.
• Ability to work flexible schedules to meet business needs.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder and stock products; stand for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to move merchandise up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Leads, supports and values customer selling in-store and online shopping experiences.
• Promotes a customer-obsessed culture with greeting, re-engaging, educating, adding on, and thanking customers.
• Understands role in sales growth and store profitability.
• Reads customer cues to create an exceptional in-store experience.
• Educates customers on loyalty programs, promotions, and merchandise to build baskets.
• Acts as a brand ambassador, treating customers and coworkers with respect.
• Leads by example and enforces company policies and procedures.
• Executes Manager on Duty responsibilities including opening/closing and team supervision.
• Assists in freight, stockroom organization, merchandising directives, pricing, and inventory accuracy.
