Job summary

CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, is seeking a Business Operations Associate in Merrillville, IN. You will ensure smooth processing of sales, auctions, and appraisals while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records.

You will handle cash management, audits, and critical paperwork, train new associates, and support multiple departments in a fast-paced environment, upholding CarMax’s commitment to transparency and integrity.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and guiding them through paperwork.
• Process and audit paperwork for retail and wholesale sales, including contracts and DMV docs.
• Manage auction and appraisal transactions with accurate titles and funding paperwork.
• Handle cash management tasks, including deposits and security protocols.
• Train and mentor new associates and support store operations across departments.
• Perform clerical duties like filing, data entry, and reconciliation of missing info.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, safe work area.
