PetSmart’s Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) drives operational excellence in our stores, overseeing merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, and store leadership responsibilities. The role includes opening/closing, supervising associates, and maintaining a safe, organized shopping environment.

The position emphasizes training and coaching, adherence to Policies and Procedures, and delivering a positive experience for pet parents and team members while upholding PetSmart values.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and presentation.
• Support associate development including training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching.
• Delegate and verify completion of daily tasks.
• Act as Leader on Duty when needed and supervise associates.
• Address associate concerns; manage complaints and performance feedback.
• Ensure merchandise strategies, inventory audits, and stock replenishment.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash with accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain store standards and code of ethics across operations.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures and cycle counts.
• Ensure pet care standards and safe handling of animals.
