PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead plays a key role in driving store excellence, overseeing merchandising, inventory, pet care, and daily operations. The role involves leading associates, ensuring a safe and organized store, and upholding PetSmart’s vision and values.

The position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering an outstanding customer and pet parent experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop associates, providing training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching for growth, and performance feedback.
• Manage merchandising, inventory levels, audits, and stock replenishment decisions.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash transactions.
• Maintain store standards and ensure adherence to Policies, Procedures, and Code of Ethics.
• Open and/or close the store and act as Leader on Duty when required.
• Ensure pets are cared for and safe, and assist customers with online orders and pickup.
