Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Deland, FL is looking for an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager with daily operations, merchandising, scheduling, and customer service. You will help oversee staff, make merchandising decisions, and ensure policy compliance.

The role requires knowledge of store departments and strong communication skills, with the ability to lead when the Store Manager is absent. This is an hourly, non-exempt position in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in footwear and athletic apparel preferred.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with initiative and attention to detail.
• Self-starter capable of taking on tasks without prompting.
• Willing to assist in managing a team and achieving store goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager in establishing action plans to accomplish responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures.
