Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Florida location. The role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, and staff oversight, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

You will oversee selling activities, restocking, and scheduling, ensuring policy adherence and profitability. Prior retail and customer service experience strongly preferred, with the ability to lead teams during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to assist in managing a team and meet goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on tasks.
• Attention to detail with multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume store responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Ensure inventory, sales statistics, and expenses support profitability.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
• Maintain customer service excellence per manuals and policies.
