Job summary

PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead oversees store operations with a focus on merchandising, inventory, and pet care. You will supervise and mentor associates, ensure a safe, engaging store environment, and drive revenue through effective merchandising and customer service.

The role requires full-time availability, weekend/evening flexibility, and strong communication. You will also lead during duty shifts, manage stock, and support a positive associate and customer experience in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support sales associates in merchandise handling and presentation.
• Facilitate associate development through training, onboarding, mentoring and coaching.
• Delegate daily tasks and act as leader on duty when needed.
• Address associates' concerns and recognize engagement drivers.
• Execute merchandise strategies, manage inventory and conduct audits.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash in accordance with policies.
• Ensure store standards and uphold Policies, Procedures, and Code of Ethics.
• Participate in opening/closing procedures and cycle counts.
• Maintain pet care standards and ensure safe, healthy pets in our care.
