Job summary

Trustmark Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to support both retail and wholesale origination through loan decisioning, underwriting guidance, and scenario questions based on GSE guidelines to ensure quality.

The role requires 5 years of underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA and VA loans, FHA DE and VA SAR certifications, and proficiency with Desktop Underwriter, Excel, and Word. Illinois location; college degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA and VA loans.
• DE or applicable certifications are required or preferred.
• Solid understanding of underwriting and compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to both retail and originators for guidelines and income scenario questions.
• Maintain a small loan pipeline for decisioning under delegated underwriting authority.
• Review all appraisal types for final approval and issue NOVs/conditional requirements.
• Stay updated with investor guidelines and attend refresher training.
• Respond to management for QC/QA exceptions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
