Job summary

Trustmark Bank is seeking a qualified mortgage underwriter to support both retail and wholesale platforms with guidance on loan decisions, underwriting standards, and investor guidelines. The role involves maintaining a disciplined loan pipeline and ensuring compliance with FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA requirements.

Ideal candidates will have FHA DE and VA SAR certifications, strong customer service skills, and proficiency with DeskTop Underwriter, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in underwriting FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA Rural Housing loans.
• FHA DE certification.
• VA SAR certification.
• Documented experience in mortgage loan underwriting.
• Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and compliance.
• Working knowledge of DeskTop Underwriter.
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to both retail and TPO originators for questions regarding guidelines, income requirements scenarios.
• Maintain a small pipeline of loans to decision for final approval based on underwriting authority delegations.
• Review appraisal types for final approval including issuing NOVs and HFS/USDA conditional requirements.
• Stay updated and attend refresher training for all investor guidelines.
• Review and respond to management for all QC/QA exceptions.
• Associates are expected to perform additional duties as assigned.
