Goodwill Industries Southern New England Inc seeks a Retail Material Handler to manage movement of materials at a store or outlet, assist donors with donations, and help customers with purchases. The role includes loading/unloading, stocking, and preparing donated goods for processing under the Store/Outlet Manager's guidance.

Regular weekend, holiday, and evening hours are typical; cross-training to cover additional duties may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required; 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Students under 18 may be hired part-time but may not operate hazardous equipment and must follow CT DOL hours rules.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and crates using hand truck, pallet jack or straddle stacker.
• Assist donors and customers by carrying donations and purchases to vehicles.
• Sort, price and prepare donated goods for processing and display.
• Stock shelves and fixtures; assist in shipping documentation as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to safety procedures.
