Job summary

Goodwill Central Texas is seeking a Retail General Manager to lead a high-performing store, from opening to closing, optimizing sales floor and back-of-house production.

You will recruit, train, and develop a dynamic team, manage inventory, and own the store's P&L, making data-driven decisions to meet performance goals.

This role requires 3–5 years of retail leadership, willingness to work weekends, and a passion for community impact with Goodwill's mission.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail management experience.
• Experience managing both sales operations and merchandise production.
• Experience with profit & loss statements.
• Ability to lift 35–50 lbs as needed.
• Leads by example and inspires teams to perform.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of a high-performing retail store, from opening to closing.
• Manage sales floor and back-of-house production teams to ensure efficient flow of merchandise.
• Monitor inventory, stock levels, and merchandising to maximize revenue and store presentation.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a dynamic team of staff including assistants and supervisors.
• Cultivate a customer-first culture with top-tier service for shoppers and donors.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, state regulations, and loss prevention.
• Own store P&L and make data-driven decisions to meet performance goals.
• Handle payroll, attendance, and scheduling using internal systems.
• Serve as the go-to leader for resolving team or customer concerns.
• Maintain strong cross-department communication to align goals.
