GWC Capital is seeking a General Manager, Retail to lead a HomeBuilt store’s performance, profitability, and customer experience. You will shape daily operations, build leadership capacity, and drive staffing decisions to keep the business healthy.

You will represent the store in the community, develop contractor and business customer relationships, and create an engaging, accountable work environment that retains talent and delivers consistent results.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s preferred.
8–10 years of retail, hardware, home improvement, or related experience.
5 years of progressive leadership experience including leading through other managers.

Responsabilités

Own store financial performance including sales growth, margin, expenses, and profitability.
Build and execute the store business plan and adjust course when results fall short.
Manage labor, inventory investment, and operating expenses within budgets.
Set and enforce service standards for consistent, knowledgeable customer help.
Engage with customers to gather feedback, resolve escalations, and identify improvements.
Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning for the team.
Coach store managers and supervisors, preparing team members for advancement.
Make final hiring and staffing decisions within company guidelines.
Oversee merchandising, inventory accuracy, shrink control, and product availability.
Ensure compliance with policy, safety requirements, and regulations.
Represent the store in the community and build contractor/vendor relationships.
Create a work environment where employees are engaged, accountable, and stay long-term.
