Job summary

Ace Retail Group in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Floor Supervisor to oversee store operations in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Managers. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with safety policies, and maintain a positive shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly directions, and operating manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and work with decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others.
• Standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50lbs) regularly, and lifting (up to 100lbs) occasionally with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Project a positive representation of Ace Retail Group.
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
• Thank customers when they are finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor towards customers as well as associates.
• Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously, and effectively.
• Resolve customer complaints.
• Work to resolve customer issues and have Ace Retail Group's best interest taken into consideration.
• Possess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
• Supervise the general operations of the entire store.
• Responsible for opening and closing the store procedures.
• Assist with the implementation of Store Support Center programs.
• Help ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits.
• Assist the General Manager and Assistant Manager on all aspects of running the store.
• Communicate any operational or managerial issues to the General Manager in a timely manner.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise areas.
• Help ensure that weekly price changes and label updates are completed timely and accurately.
• Assist with all cashiering functions including training, maintenance, audits, and reports.
