Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Destiny USA location. You will support the store manager in all aspects of operations, ensuring Guest service excellence, staff management, and execution of sales and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities include scheduling, hiring decisions, leading shifts, coaching the team, maintaining brand standards in displays, and managing inventory. The role requires strong leadership and a customer-centric approach to drive results.

Qualifications

• 2+ years store management in a customer-centric retail environment.
• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Basic understanding of store tech: POS, scheduling, HRIS, time/attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and scheduling.
• Involve hiring decisions and staff advancement feedback.
• Lead shifts, enforce policies, and communicate disciplinary actions as needed.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader and create a strong Guest experience.
• Ensure merchandising displays adhere to brand standards.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional Guest service.
