Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. seeks an Assistant Manager for Concord Mills to support the store manager in daily operations, guest service, and sales execution. You will help plan staff assignments, monitor performance, and uphold brand standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

In this role you will lead floor teams, assist in hiring and development, oversee inventory, merchandising, and safety, and drive results while creating a welcoming, engaging experience for guests and team members alike.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of store management experience preferred in specialty retail.
• Basic understanding of consumer-facing retail tech (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in daily assignments and directing work.
• Assist in hiring, promotion decisions, and staff development.
• Lead and motivate shifts, enforce policies, and ensure guest experience aligns with brand standards.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader and maintain merchandising layouts.
• Oversee inventory management and security, including receiving and counts.
