Retail Events Coordinator at Michaels Stores

Location: Store - INDY-CASTLETON, IN

Job Responsibilities

1. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events such as kids' birthday parties within the store to ensure a fun and engaging experience.
2. Provide friendly customer service, assist customers in shopping, and ensure a quick checkout process.
3. Perform operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise handling, and maintaining store recovery standards.

Event Coordination

• Manage multiple events simultaneously, including craft classes and children’s parties.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate crafts, perform face painting, and facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members, and handle administrative tasks.
• Adjust plans based on feedback, create backup plans, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards before and after events.

Customer Experience

• Assist customers with product location and solutions, and provide a friendly checkout experience.
• Promote and enroll customers in Rewards and Credit Card programs.
• Support omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS, and participate in stock and recovery duties.
• Adhere to SOPs, promote safety, and embody a positive, respectful attitude.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Energetic, enthusiastic personality with excellent people skills.
• Experience working with children and managing children’s events.
• Strong communication, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and customer service experience required.

Physical and Work Environment

• Ability to stand for long periods, move throughout the store, and lift heavy items.
• Work may include nights, weekends, outdoor activities, and working in climate-controlled or non-controlled environments.
