Job summary

E&H Hardware Group is seeking a Department Lead to drive sales, maintain department organization, and support day-to-day operations on the sales floor of our Wooster store. This role suits a team player ready to take the lead in a product category and ensure an outstanding shopping experience.

As a Department Lead, you will own performance, presentation, and inventory for your department, collaborate with store management, and help maintain a welcoming, well-stocked environment for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong product knowledge and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to lead by example and work well within a team.
• Familiarity with retail computer systems, Microsoft Office, or Teams is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service to every customer using the company’s Customer First Sales Culture.
• Answer questions, locate merchandise, and assist with in-store and online orders.
• Promote Ace Rewards program and help customers sign up.
• Maintain product knowledge and awareness of current promotions.
• Conduct cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Receive, stock, and merchandise products in assigned departments.
• Ensure department signage is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on sales floor, stock room, and outdoor areas.
• Participate in seasonal resets and store visual standards.
• Open and/or close the store as needed and serve as a trusted keyholder.
• Monitor safety concerns and theft prevention measures.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate with store leadership.
• Flex schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
