Job summary

Little General Store Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative to be the primary contact for customers. The role includes sales, stocking, cleanliness, and safety duties throughout a shift. Eligibility to sell tobacco, lottery, and alcohol requires minimum age of 18.

The position can be full-time or part-time, with reporting to the Retail Store Manager or Assistant Manager. English literacy and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Present a well-groomed, professional image at all times.
• Greet and welcome customers with a smile.
• Help customers locate products and provide information.
• Upsell related products when appropriate.
• Record sales on the cash register and collect payment.
• Understand and follow all payment systems and transaction processes.
• Follow state laws on lottery, alcohol and tobacco sales.
• Promote enrollment in loyalty programs.
• Monitor store and report suspicious activity to the Manager on duty.
• Monitor gas pumps to prevent theft and report issues.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the Manager on duty.
• Stock shelves and maintain pricing.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in food service areas.
• Participate in cleaning and safety protocols.
• Adhere to security and emergency procedures.
• Report customer accidents or injuries to management.
• Follow corporate policies and complete daily shift reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
