Job summary

Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to support our Stores as we provide essential products at great values to the communities we serve. The Customer Service Associate will greet customers, assist with merchandise selection, complete transactions, and answer questions regarding store and merchandise.

Other duties may include unloading trucks, processing freight, stocking shelves, and recovering merchandise.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Prefer retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store environments.
• Physical: Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, walking, bending and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer engagement in positive and approachable manner.
• Maintains a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
• Assists unloading merchandise from delivery trucks and stocking shelves.
• Stocks shelves and recovers merchandise in the store.
• Handles customer funds and processes transactions using the POS system.
• Maintains awareness of customer activity to ensure safety and security.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support store operations.
