Job summary

Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to join our stores as Customer Service Associates. You will greet customers, assist with selection of merchandise, complete transactions, and answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.

Additional duties include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organized store, and helping ensure a safe shopping environment. A flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store preferred.
• Physical: lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching.
• Availability: flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer engagement in a positive and approachable manner.
• Maintains a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
• Unloads merchandise from delivery trucks, organizes merchandise, and transports from stockroom to sales floor.
• Independently stocks shelves and recovers merchandise in the store.
• Accurately handles customer funds and processes transactions using the POS system.
• Remains aware of customer activity to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned to maintain effective store operation.
