Job summary

MICRO CENTER in Columbus, OH is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians. Starting at $15/hour base pay with productivity incentives to increase hourly rates up to $18-$35 + SPIFFs.

It is MICRO CENTER's core promise to take care of associates and customers as we have for 40+ years. You will spend time at the service counter guiding customers through service options and in the shop diagnosing and repairing devices, while maintaining communication on repair status.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; 1 year related computer service/tech support preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT; ability to certify within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; stand for prolonged periods.
• Shifts include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter on computers and other retail products.
• Recommend service solutions including backups, antivirus, extended warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware or software problems on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, TVs and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers as part of BYO build team.
• Maintain certifications and stay up to date with vendor products and technologies.
• Maintain cash till, process transactions, and keep the service area clean and stocked.
