Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is seeking a Branch Manager in Opelika, AL to lead daily operations and drive sales and margins. You will coach inside staff, manage inventory, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support the outside sales team in building client relationships.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and efficient branch performance. Experience in retail or industrial distribution, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, are preferred, with benefits including

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required. Bachelor degree preferred.
• Experience in managing a customer-facing team with P&L responsibility and KPI-driven performance.
• Strong people management and leadership skills; ability to navigate regulatory and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations to achieve sales and margin goals.
• Promote sales and deliver excellent customer service.
• Nurture inventory levels and balance expenses through purchasing support.
• Foster facility and staff alignment to safety and regulatory standards; mentor team members.
• Provide professional customer service for internal and external customers and inquiries.
• Support outside sales team in nurturing client relationships and new business opportunities.
• Ensure accurate and timely daily financial processing: cash reports, tickets, coding, pricing, cash summaries, and deposits.
• Maintain accuracy of back orders, open orders, and PO reports.
• Cultivate and refine cylinder and hard goods inventory levels and coordinate timely product delivery.
• Lead training for inside sales on product knowledge, policies, processes, and safety.
• Conduct performance reviews and mentor staff.
