Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, train staff, and ensure a positive environment while maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities include supervising merchandise flow, opening/closing procedures, maintaining displays, and protecting assets. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and do frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged goods; record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain organized stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist Store Manager to supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
