Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the store team. You’ll help with daily activities, organize merchandise, and ensure a neat, safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, payroll/scheduling, inventory and loss prevention, and maintaining promotional displays. You will work with Store Manager to train staff and uphold company policies while delivering friendly service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Experience managing retail or grocery teams is preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, and areas neat
• Other duties as assigned*
