Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development.

Duties include assisting with daily store activities, helping customers, organizing merchandise from delivery to floor, opening and closing, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked store. This role emphasizes supervisory duties and training Store Associates in a positive, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Enforce store policies and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
