Job summary

Goodwill of Central Iowa is seeking a Retail Assistant Store Manager to oversee donated-goods retail operations and lead a team with values of love, kindness, and respect. This full-time role requires flexibility to cover shifts Mon-Sat 8am-10pm and Sun 11am-6pm, with starting pay $18.00–$22.00/hour plus weekend premium and monthly bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 4 years of combined military service, high school, or related full-time employment.
• At least 12 months of related full-time paid employment, including at least 6 months of supervisory experience, or 1 year at a Goodwill of Central Iowa store.
• Reliable transportation with Iowa Driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Must pass criminal background checks and demonstrate First Aid/CPR readiness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the team and store processes to meet sales and production goals.
• Train and coach employees using in-person, online, and written methods.
• Use Microsoft Office, POS, HRIS, and LMS to monitor store metrics and payroll.
• Analyze expenses, production, and sales to support revenue targets and fund the mission.
• Provide regular performance feedback aligned with the organization's values.
• Maintain store appearance, cash handling, and safety standards; support DGR processes.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and Safety & Loss Control to ensure safety and compliance.
