Job summary

Goodwill of Central Iowa is seeking a Retail Assistant Store Manager to lead the donated-goods retail team and ensure outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will train and coach staff, monitor KPIs, and support revenue targets to fund the organization’s mission.

Successful candidates will have at least six months of supervisory experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to coaching and developing others, while upholding Goodwill’s values of love,

Qualifications

• Two to four years of retail or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for daily staff and customer interactions.
• Dedication to coaching, leading, and developing others in a team environment.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to changing store needs.
• Commitment to Goodwill's values of love, kindness, and respect.
• High attention to detail and organization in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing store operations and staff to meet sales and production goals.
• Train and coach employees using multiple platforms and processes.
• Utilize technology (MS Office, POS, HRIS, LMS) to monitor store metrics and payroll actions.
• Analyze expenses and sales to support revenue targets and KPI reporting.
• Provide regular performance feedback aligned with Goodwill’s values.
• Ensure excellent customer service and smooth donation, pricing, and merchandising processes.
