Job summary

Goodwill of Central Iowa is seeking a Retail Assistant Store Manager to oversee donated-goods retail operations and lead a team of store employees. This role requires a flexible schedule, strong customer service, and commitment to our mission of making purposeful employment possible for all central Iowans.

Starting wage is $18-$22 per hour, with $1 extra on weekend shifts, monthly bonus eligibility, and annual merit increases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 12 months of related full-time employment with at least 6 months supervisory experience.
• Ability to pass criminal and background checks.
• Reliable transportation and Iowa Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assists in managing the team and store processes effectively to meet sales and production goals monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Trains and coaches employees using various platforms including in-person, online, and written processes.
• Effectively uses technology such as Microsoft Office, POS system, HRIS, cash register operations system, and LMS to communicate, monitor, and track store metrics.
• Analyzes expenses, production, and sales to achieve revenue goals and participates in monthly financial calls; completes KPI reports and oversees timekeeping and payroll actions.
• Provides regular performance feedback and reinforces values of love, kindness, and respect.
• Supports Mission activities and rounds-up donations to fund Goodwill's programs.
• Delivers excellent customer service and responds promptly to customer needs.
