Job description

We are currently looking for the right Retail Assistant Store Manager to join our Team! Our hourly rate ranges from $18.00 to $21.00 plus an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, potentially adding an average of $3.85 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management or key experience. The Assistant Store Manager will oversee day‑to‑day operations, lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. This role works closely with the Store Manager to analyze financial statements, ensure asset protection, promote the business, and target new customer acquisitions. The position involves sales of jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment, engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
• Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures protect assets.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
• Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, systems, and reporting.
• Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
• Maintain operating standards that meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for quality and integrity.
• Complete assigned training for self‑development.
• Communicate clearly with employees to convey the store’s mission and profit objectives.
• Stay current on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Willing and able to perform standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other physically demanding tasks as required by law.
• Proven supervisory experience.
• Must be willing and able to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Ability to assist customers outdoors or retrieve stored products as needed.
• Minimum age 18.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel between multiple store locations.
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Availability to work 40+ hours per week (hours are not guaranteed).
• Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and office machines.
• Strong multitasking ability in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan Information

The Assistant Store Manager commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Potential earnings range from 2% to 8% based on personal performance gross profit. Detailed information is provided during the interview process.
