Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Manhattan, Kansas seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, scheduling and customer service.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years retail experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead a team during busy periods. This full-time, non-exempt role pays hourly at $12.65 and reports to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Collaborate on action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Step in as acting Store Manager in absence of the Store Manager.
• Participate in recruiting, training and evaluating staff.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department standards and tasks are completed.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory and customer trends.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and adherence to manuals and policies.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by the store.
