Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Richmond, VA. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, process directives, and maintain displays to ensure a high-quality shopping environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, with the physical capacity to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and interpret directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drugstore environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communicate store activities to staff.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store quality and effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handle damaged goods, keep records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
