Hibbett I City Gear in Pierre Mall is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, scheduling, and customer service excellence. The position is hourly and focused on delivering outstanding service, achieving store goals, and maintaining profitable operations across departments at the Pierre location.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Team-player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets and operations.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume store responsibility in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Train and evaluate store personnel; provide guidance to employees and customers.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to protect profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure extraordinary customer service per the customer service manual and assist customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
