Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear Marion, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations and customer service excellence. You will assist the Store Manager in merchandising, scheduling, and achieving store goals while ensuring policy adherence.

The role requires 1–3 years in retail with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. This on-site position reports to the Store Manager as part of the Operations department.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to support Store Manager in leading the team and achieving goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Consult with the Store Manager to plan selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Serve as acting manager in the Store Manager's absence.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating store personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Maintain inventory movement updates and track customer trends.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote merchandise.
