Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear Fort Wayne (Southgate) is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, and guest service. You will know each department, uphold policies, and promote merchandise with a passion for exceptional customer care.

The role includes supervisory duties in the Store Manager’s absence, helping with recruiting, training, scheduling, and store performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and meet goals.
• Self-starter with initiative for important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the entire store in Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Maintain high quality customer service and assist customers during peak periods.
