Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager in Ohio to support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations and lead a team in delivering outstanding customer service. The candidate will ensure policy compliance, train staff, and assume full responsibility in the Store Manager's absence while striving to meet sales and service goals.

The role emphasizes safety, staff development, inventory control, POS handling, and visual merchandising to maintain store standards throughout all shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Provide leadership and training to staff; assist Store Manager.
• Oversee POS transactions, discounts, refunds, loyalty and opening/closing procedures.
• Manage inventory controls: shipping, receiving, pricing, damage, stock counts.
• Direct merchandising, floor presentation, housekeeping, signage for promotions.
• Assist with payroll scheduling and time/attendance; supervise staff development.
• Support loss prevention and protect company assets.
• Develop understanding of daily store operations and performance.
