Job summary

Rack Room Shoes is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist the Store Manager in daily operations, lead staff, and ensure adherence to company policies. In the Store Manager's absence, you will take full responsibility for the store and strive to exceed sales and service targets while maintaining a safe environment.

You will oversee cash handling, inventory controls, merchandising standards, and payroll duties, ensuring an excellent customer experience and efficient store performance.

Qualifications

• Strong visual merchandising skills.
• Working knowledge of footwear, accessories and shoe care.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of Corporate and Store Operations policies and procedures.
• A complete understanding of the standards of Store Presentation and strong visual merchandising skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in managing day-to-day store operations.
• Provide leadership, guidance and training to staff.
• In the Store Manager's absence, assume total responsibility for operations.
• Strive to meet and exceed sales, service and operational objectives.
• Ensure safety and welfare of employees and customers.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience.
• Handle POS transactions per policy and procedure.
• Manage inventory controls including shipping/receiving and pricing changes.
• Oversee sales floor merchandising and visual presentation.
• Assist with payroll, scheduling and attendance.
