Job summary

Family Dollar in Oak Forest, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with merchandising, payroll, scheduling, loss prevention, and training Store Associates while keeping the store clean and welcoming.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), store-management experience preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping.
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
