Family Dollar in Mattoon, Illinois is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. This full-time role requires hands-on leadership and a commitment to store standards.

You'll assist with open/close procedures, help organize merchandise, train Store Associates, and ensure a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff alike while upholding company policies and loss prevention measures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs; frequent movement and standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Team-oriented with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash handling and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and stockroom.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
